Azerbaijan sees the agricultural sector as a central direction in a bid to diversify the national economy, diminish its dependence on the oil sector, and assure expansion of economic development to rural areas. The country, with its advantageous climatic conditions and good opportunities to develop agrarian sector, has defined the establishment of agroparks among its priorities to boost the agriculture development.
In this context, the objective of the Shamkir Agropark project is both to expand domestic supply and to increase the export of agricultural products. After its completion, the project will provide access of small farmers to secure land and local markets, provide fresh food, and mean an educational, environmental, and aesthetic amenity for nearby communities. The facilities under construction are divided into two main buildings: the logistic center and the office building. On the one hand, the logistics center aims to optimize processes from the use of the latest technology and innovative systems. On the other hand, the office building is designed to achieve an environmentally sustainable performance that aims to become the main reference of the new commitment of the country to renewable energy.
The design and execution of the project is in compliance with European regulations and standards.
